Define Your Assessment Criteria

How will you assess your students’ digital stories?

To help you articulate the assessment criteria for the digital story you are tasking your students to complete, consider the below scaffolds and add them to your planner.

____ I will use or modify one or more rubrics.

____ Students will provide peer review using the rubric(s).

____ Students will provide peer review through written or oral feedback.

____ Grades will be impacted based on peer review.

____ Self-assessment will be included.

____ Self-assessment will be graded.

____ Rough drafts will be graded.

____ Grades will be based primarily on the quality of the story (voice, framing, arc, how effectively the story has been communicated, etc.)

____ Production quality (development of media skills) will be an important part of the grade.

____ Media literacy and analysis (as represented in the students’ digital stories, through peer review, and/or in complementary course activities such as discussions and analysis of digital stories) will be an important part of the grade.
